This week five of our DCs, Ann-Engelke, Lena, Aurora, Giulia and Martje, share their experience of attending the School of the Dutch Kidney Foundation in Soesterberg NL on 16-18th June.
The Summer School is an intensive course designed for early-career kidney researchers. It offers supplementary education on key research disciplines relevant to nephrology.
We’ve participated in workshops covering the fundamentals of kidney physiology, heard from clinicians about the challenges and treatments of kidney failure, and learned from leading researchers about emerging technologies in the field.
Beyond the lectures, we had several hands-on opportunities: we worked on team-building exercises, networked with fellow participants, and even developed our own grant proposals for the DKF — receiving valuable feedback for possible future applications.
All in all, it’s been three inspiring and educational days, full of learning, connecting, and growing as young researchers in nephrology.
